Barn Fire in the 42-36 Box

On October 8, 2010, Station 42 was alerted to a barn on fire in the area of Friendship Rd & Fairhaven Rd in the 42-36 box.  Calvert Engine 12 was first arriving and reported a fully involved barn and were placing multiple lines in service.  Calvert Chief 5 arrived shortly after and established Command.  Units from Anne Arundel and Calvert operated for approx. 3 hours due to the extent of the fire. Chimney Fire in the 41-04 Box

On Friday; 3/26/10 at 1904 hrs. Engine 424 and Truck 42 were alerted to the 41-04 box for a chimney fire off Chalk Point Rd.  Engine 411 arrived to find nothing evident.  411 advised to stage units with the exception of Engine 424 and Truck 42.  Engine 424 had investigation while Truck 42 laddered the roof to inspect the chimney.  Nothing was found and all units went in-service shortly after. Chimney/Dwelling Fire off Little Rd

On Wednesday; 1/20/10 at 1334 hrs Engine 422 was alerted for a chimney fire off of Little Rd in the 42-14 Box. Engine 91 arrived on scene advising smoke showing, the 2nd alarm was requested shortly after for fire in the basement with significant extension into the upper floors. While crews were entering the front door of the structure, the floor collapsed and several firefighters fell from the first floor into the basement below, and the Mayday was issued immediately.  Two of the injured firefighters were transported as a result. Units continued to operate on scene for several hours.  Units were held on scene for extensive overhaul and cleanup.  Units from Anne Arundel, Calvert and Prince Georges counties responded to the call and all were clear by 2110hrs. MVC with One Overturned at Rt408/Sands Rd

On Monday; 9/07/09 at 0051hrs. – Ambulance 429 responded along with E451 (transferred to Co.9), PM1, EMS3 and PG E845 to a report of an MVC with one overturned at the intersection of Route 408 & Sands Rd in the 09-01 box. PG Chief 802 arrived first on scene and advised property damage only, E451 arrived shortly after and found 4 pts that had already self-extricated.  A429 assessed the pts, PM1 transported one to Children’s in DC due to mechanism. Fire from the Rear of House in 9-04 Box

On Sunday; 9/06/09 at 2330hrs Truck 42 was alerted for a dwelling fire with fire coming from the rear of the house on Mt Zion Marlboro Rd in the 09-04 Box. Engine 91 arrived on scene assumed command, advising they had a fire and possibly one still inside. Basement Fire in 9-19 Box

On Wednesday; 8/22/09 at 1824 hrs Engine 422 was alerted for a dwelling fire on Lytham Ct in the 09-19 Box. Engine 91 arrived on scene passing command, advising they had a working basement fire. E422 arrived on the scene and established a water supply and assisted with fire attack from the crew from E91. New Truck 42 – Equipped & In-service

On Thursday; 7/30/09 the Deale Volunteer Fire Department put the new Truck 42 in-service, a 2009 Pierce Dash 100′ ladder truck and ran its first call to a medical later on that same day.  The new truck has a 100′ aluminum ladder with a pre-piped waterway, full set of Hurst rescue tools, airbags, the Res-Q-Jack vehicle stabilization system in addition to the power/hand tools, fans, lights etc. Crew Tk42 First Call: Tk42 – FF J. MVC on Rt.2 at Ark Rd with Entrapment

On Saturday; 4/25/09 at 1536 hrs. – Truck 42 & Medic 42 responded along with E91 and A419 from Station 42 to a MVC with entrapment near the intersection of Route 2 & Ark Road in the 9-22 box. EMS3 and PM9 arrived first on scene and found two vehicles, with two patients trapped and one overturned.  Tk42 arrived on scene with E91 and took one vehicle and Sq2 and E411 worked on the second vehicle. Both patients were extricated and transported from the scene via MSP Trooper 1 & 2 to Baltimore Shock Trauma.  Units from Anne Arundel and Prince George’s counties were on scene.  All units cleared around 1700 hrs.
