Normally the sight and sounds of fire department vehicles mean bad news, but showing up before Christmas meant Santa Claus was on the way.
Members of the Deale Volunteer Fire Department extended its reach to 3 local families to have a Merry Christmas this year.
The Department presented the families with several gifts before Christmas to help out.
Families were chosen from Guidance Counselors from the local schools, Shady Side Elementary and Deale Elementary.
Children received various items from clothes, toys, puzzles, games, and gift cards.
