The Deale Volunteer Fire Department would like to give our heart felt condolences to the family and friends of Jason Coburn.  Jason was involved in a fatal motor vehicle accident in Pasadena this morning.  Jason was an active member of the Ritchie Volunteer Fire Department in PG County.  He also attended the Anne Arundel County Cadet Program along with several members from Deale and will be greatly missed. Our thoughts and prayers go out to Jason Coburn’s family as well as his girlfriend Mandy. It is with deep sympathy that the Deale Volunteer Fire Department announces the death of Margaret Whittington on October 17, 2006. Mrs. Whittington was a Charter and Life member of the Deale VFD Ladies Auxiliary and served as the first President of the Auxiliary. She is survived by her son and daughter in law, Terry and Debbie Whittington and grandson Ryan Whittington. The entire Whittington family are active members of the Department. Deale has lost a grand lady and our thoughts and prayers are with the family. ...

On June 1st; 4 Deale Volunteers graduated from the Anne Arundel County Fire Department’s Cadet Vo-Tech Program. John Browning, Jeff Grierson, Jake Mettam and Ryan Whittington all received certificates of completion at a graduation ceremony held at the Odenton Volunteer Fire Department. They traveled to Millersville Fire Headquarters every day after 2nd period at Southern High for this program. The Cadets completed instruction in Firefighter 1, Firefighter 2, Rescue Tech, EMT Basic, Weapons of Mass Destruction, Hazmat Operations and Blood Borne Pathogens. On Tuesday; 5/09/06 – Members from the Deale Volunteer Fire Dept. participated in training exercises at the station . Exercises included truck operations & vehicle extrication. Tk42 was used in the training exercises. Training was held for about 3 hours.
