On January 30, 2014 at approximately 1942hrs, Medic 42 was dispatched to the area of Greenock Rd and Brookswoods Rd in Lothian for a report of a motor vehicle collision. MU42 arrived on scene and found 1 patient unconscious. Engine 425 was added to the call after being released from a 9-10 box chimney fire to assist on scene and handle the landing zone. Due to the extent of the injuries to the driver the Traffic Safety Section was requested to respond. The driver was flown by Maryland State Police Medevac to a local Trauma Center in critical condition. Early Thursday morning on January 15th; Company 42 was alerted for a dwelling fire in the 6000-Blk of Melbourne Ave. After additional calls to Fire Alarm, it became clear the dwelling fire was actually located in the 600-Blk of East Marshall Ave. Engine 421 arrived on scene to find a two-story single-family dwelling heavily involved with fire. The structure was in the process of being rebuilt after a fatal fire in March 2014. Original 911 callers and bystanders stated hearing loud explosions from the area of the house. The second alarm was sounded after a partial collapse of the attic and roof. Over 55 firefighters were brought to the scene and the fire was under control shortly after 1030 hours. ...

At 1221hrs; Company 42 was alerted for a dwelling fire in the 42-17 Box. Engine 421, Truck 42 and Chief 42 responded with neighboring companies. Prior to arrival, Chief 42 requested the second alarm for additional equipment due to fire conditions and poor weather conditions. Upon arrival Chief 42 found a single family dwelling with fire throughout the garage and extending into the attic area. E421 dropped a supply line for the next due engine while crews positioned attack lines to the structure. Tk42 arrived and began laddering the structure before assisting the interior crews. On Sunday, 11/04/2012 around 1800 hrs. the station was alerted for a garage on fire in Franklin Manor in the area of Carvel Drive. Multiple calls were received reporting that it was fully involved. Engine 424 arrived shortly after finding a detached garage that was fully involved and worked to prevent extension that was apparent to the house. On Tuesday, 10/9/2012; several members loaded up the ladder truck with public education materials and attended an event at the Riverdale Baptist School. The Deale Volunteers were requested by the staff to educate their youngsters on fire safety. The students were able to climb aboard the ladder truck and see all the tools that are used on various calls. They also were able to see a firefighter explain all the turnout gear that is used and finally were able to sit and talk about escape plans and smoke detectors. On Saturday, 9/08/2012 at 0804 hrs the station was alerted for a rescue box with report of one trapped. The motor vehicle collision was in the area of East Bayfront Rd near the intersection of Rockhold Creek Rd. A head on collision was confirmed upon arrival, Medic 42 began triage and found one priority four patient and two trapped occupants in two separate vehicles. Truck 42 arrived, established command and began extrication efforts to free the trapped persons. Throughout Saturday, Sunday and Monday, Station 42 was dispatched to a multitude of calls during and after Hurricane Irene. We maintained multiple crews and all equipment was staffed; Engine 424, Truck 42, Brush 42 and Medic 42. From multiple wires down, trees down, trees into dwellings, pump-outs, alarms, MVC’s and medic locals; we stayed busy well into Sunday evening. A BIG thanks to the volunteer members that came out, brought in food, bunked in and also to the career staff during those 3 days/shifts. We wish the area residents and business owners the best with the ongoing clean-up efforts and as always please use caution and be safe, especially with the power outages still effecting our area. ...

On Saturday, 2-19-2011 stations were toned out for transfer crews. Truck 42 transferred north with a crew of 3. On their way to Station 21 they were picked up on a 7-19 dwelling fire. Tk42 arrived 2nd due truck right behind Tower 26. Crew from the truck assisted TW-26 with truck ops on-scene. After cleaning up; the crew continued their transfer north to station 21 where they filled in along with an engine from Susquehanna Hose Co. of Harford County.
