Early Morning House Fire

Early Thursday morning on January 15th; Company 42 was alerted for a dwelling fire in the 6000-Blk of Melbourne Ave.  After additional calls to Fire Alarm, it became clear the dwelling fire was actually located in the 600-Blk of East Marshall Ave. Engine 421 arrived on scene to find a two-story single-family dwelling heavily involved with fire. The structure was in the process of being rebuilt after a fatal fire in March 2014.  Original 911 callers and bystanders stated hearing loud explosions from the area of the house.  The second alarm was sounded after a partial collapse of the attic and roof. Over 55 firefighters were brought to the scene and the fire was under control shortly after 1030 hours.
